During a break in Marrakech, we stopped in a little coffee shop and got curious about their spiced coffee.
What a wonderful discovery!
The mixe of spices with the coffee were mind blowing. It made our day!
If you lofe spices very VERY much then here is a recipe that you need to try.
But careful, the flavors feel like an explosion, and don’t be shy with the sugar! It really helps to enjoy this arabic spiced coffee.
Moroccan Spiced Coffee:
- 1 liter of water
- 2 tablespoons of grounded coffee
- 1/4 teaspoon of Arabic gum
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon of anise
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of caraway seed *optional*
Bring the coffee and the water to boil for a minute. Then, add the spices, stir and let infuse for 5 minutes. Use a french press to filter it and add at least 2 big rocks of sugar for a small cup of coffee.
You can also add some milk if it’s too strong.
